AVID has been there since day 1! I have been enrolled in AVID for 4 years now and it is an outstanding club the people to me now are like (Family). The reason why is because we help each other out and they are people that throughout my four years of high school they have helped me in every way, from giving me advice to helping me academically. When applying for CSUs we were the first to and find out valuable information because that is what AVID is for throughout the years we were always kept updated with upcoming events or deadlines for certain things.
My Voice is club which informs us about teen dating violence I joined My Voice since my sophomore year. It's like a helpful resource to help people and inform them that they are not alone if they are suffering from any type of abuse. For My Voice two major events we do on campus is we gather as many guys and male learning facilitators to participate in "walk a male in her shoes", and every year the walk a mile around the campus in heels during lunch. Another event we participate in is in "Food Day" we sell fruit cups and the money we rise we give it to
"La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica" is a club I joined my junior year, it is a unique club because as a new member they do a ceremony, every year towards the end of October. the ceremony takes place in the MPR at our school. To become officially part of the club we have to light up a candle on stage after being called by our name alphabetical order. We help in two main events during the school year as seniors we have the opportunity to sell newspapers and raise that money for the "Children's Valley Hospital." This year as a senior I was more than happy to sell newspapers for an important need we raised 2,747. Another event I have helped in is in the Lindsay Chambers dinner that takes places either at the wellness center or at McDermont.
